On 3 August 2009 AvtoVAZ halted the conveyor until September. The decision was approved by the company’s management in order to increase the volume of production in accordance with the market demand and because of the necessity to cut costs and keep jobs. The order, which was approved by the management of the automotive plant, was adjusted with the trade union committee of AvtoVAZ. The employees will be paid two thirds of the salaries for the halt of production from 1-31 August 2009.
